Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Javier Rojas Graduated from FIU in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Currently he has completed the 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training and plans on taking the board exam to become a certified RBT soon.
Javier ultimate goal is to become a BCBA in the near future. While at college, he volunteered at a local hospital, specializing in working with children, which led him to start working as a babysitter. During his studies at FIU he took a psychotherapy course which introduced him to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and felt passionately about becoming a BCBA. Javier said, “There is a strong sense of reward that comes from helping children”, is a catchphrase he often uses. Simply put, Javier says that “during these years of undergraduate study, he discovered that working with children, and helping them form a strong foundation, which allows them to interact in a normal and healthy way with the rest of society” became his mission statement.
